Hello friend,
I am delighted to be sharing this space with you, again. I look forward to Sundays and these little updates more and more as each week passes. Even if there isn’t much to update.
It feels like time is flying by so quickly and there are so many things happening in the world that I have been savoring this space to just appreciate the small, lovely things right in front of me; the bird perched outside my kitchen window, the way the sun breaks through our morning clouds and the little snores coming from Ellie as she sleeps next to me. I feel myself gravitating towards things that are calming, creative, nostalgic and unpolished.
I’ve gotten back into baking fresh sourdough bread regularly; the weather has made it more of a challenge than normal and I’ve had to experiment to work around it, but it’s the kind of challenge I am up for. If you’ve ever baked a great loaf of sourdough, then you know how addicting it is to keep striving for the perfect results. Not to mention the amazing things you can make with a little starter…it’s so much fun and a creative outlet I didn’t realize I missed. Here’s todays finished product:

This newsletter has been another creative outlet that has been much needed. A few years back I read ( well..listened to the audio book, but that still counts ) The Artist’s Way by Julia Cameron and began my morning pages. I would wake up extra early to fit them in before the morning dog walk and absolutely loved the ritual. It felt so wonderful to just empty myself onto those pages before the day took hold of me. After about a year I fell off the routine and it wasn’t until starting this that I noticed how much I missed the simple act of writing. So, here’s my encouragement to do something creative, for fun, every now and then. Not for likes or for anyone else, just for you.

AZ sunrise captured by my mom
I just love the pictures my mom sends me while I’m away from the property in AZ. I miss it and have started planning my next trip out. My spirit is craving the quiet and to be a little more free…
Hopefully this week brings a smile to your face
Same time next week.
